有說「牛油果」是「超級食物」(Super Food),含豐富維他命C及E、不飽和脂肪酸及水溶性纖維,網上亦有文章指牛油果可降低壞膽固醇,此說法又是正確?內分泌及糖尿專科醫生林兆豐深入向我們講解牛油果與降低壞膽固醇的關係。

Q: 「超級食物」牛油果能降低壞膽固醇?

其實牛油果含有豐富的不飽和脂肪酸,亦含大量水溶性膳食纖維1,牛油果本身亦含有多種豐富維他命1,不飽和脂肪酸亦可以有效幫助減低膽固醇的水平,間接減輕我們患上冠心病及中風的機會2

而豐富的水溶性膳食纖維,亦可以減低腸道對膽固醇的吸收3,又可以幫助我們穩定血糖3。多種豐富的維他命如維他命C、維他命E1 皆有很強的抗氧化作用,對維持心臟健康亦很有幫助4

水溶性膳食纖維能3:降低膽固醇水平、減少患上心臟病的風險、控制血糖。

 

雖然牛油果有很多好處,但牛油果本身的熱量也很高5,醫生亦不建議過量進食6。如果膽固醇的水平真是實在太高,亦不能單憑牛油果,那麼病人便需要適當的藥物治療。
